NABA selected among the five Design Schools
Come migliorare la vita domestica attraverso le tecnologie digitali?
In altre parole, come possono gli strumenti e i servizi digitali semplificare i rapporti tra gli abitanti e le loro case? E come può questo rapporto diventare più piacevole, più divertente, più consapevole e più ricco?
Per rispondere a questa domanda, Orange (Telecom Francia) ha promosso un concorso di idee aperto ai giovani talenti provenienti da cinque selezionate Accademie d’Arte e Design europee: 3 in Francia, 1 in Gran Bretagna e 1 Italia, NABA.
Gli studenti NABA coinvolti, del Triennio di Design, dovranno riflettere su tre argomenti principali:
- come può la relazione con la nostra casa essere meno strumentale e più ricreativa?
- come può stabilirsi un rapporto di fiducia tra la casa intesa come sistema tecnologico e le persone che vivono in essa?
- in cosa i prodotti e servizi presentati arricchiranno le relazioni tra gli abitanti della casa, ovunque esse si trovino?
Per il concorso gli studenti saranno seguiti dai loro insegnanti, dai professionisti di Orange Design e dai responsabili del progetto e i loro lavori dovranno dare prova di grande flessibilità, essere piacevoli e divertenti oltre che in grado di migliorare il loro impatto sull’ambiente.

Una giuria di professionisti selezionerà i progetti vincitori e 3 premi saranno assegnati martedì 11 settembre nell’ambito della speciale cerimonia di premiazione del concorso, che si svolgerà presso lo spazio artistico 104 – Le Centquatre di Parigi e vedrà la partecipazione come Presidente della giuria, dell’architetto e designer Carlotta de Bevilacqua.
I progetti saranno presentati al pubblico in una mostra presso Lieu du Design di Parigi, dal 28 Settembre al 19 Ottobre 2012.
Nell’ambito del progetto, il 9 Ottobre, NABA ospiterà una tavola rotonda dal tema “Intimacy, togetherness, connectivity”.

How to improve home life for tomorrow using digital technologies?
In other words, how can connected appliances and the related digital services help to simplify relationships between residents and between residents and their homes? How can this relationship become more pleasant, more fun, more responsible and richer?
To answer these questions, Orange (France Telecom) has created a competition of ideas open to young talents from around the globe, studying in five selected European Arts and Design Schools: 3 in France, 1 in UK and 1 in Italy, NABA.
This year, NABA BA Design students involved, must answer three essential questions with their ideas about connected homes:
- how can the nature of the relationships we enjoy with our homes become less utilitarian and more affectionate and fun?
- how can a relationship of trust be established between the home as a technological system and the people who live in it?
- how will these products and services enrich the relationships between the residents of the home, wherever they are?
For this competition, the students are starting a new learning cycle, they will be supported by their teachers and can benefit regularly from the expertise of the Orange Design and Marketing project leaders and their project must demonstrate great flexibility, be attractive and fun, and be able to improve its impact on the environment.

A expert jury including designers, company directors and specialist journalists will select the 3 winning projects which will be awarded on Tuesday, September 11th at the contest prize-given ceremony, that will take place at the art space 104 - Le Centquatre in Paris and will be attended, among the others, as Chair of the jury by the architect and designer Carlotta de Bevilacqua.
Between September 28th and October 19th the projects will be on display in an exhibition at the Lieu du Design in Paris.
On October 9th, NABA will host a round table focused on the topic “Intimacy, togetherness, connectivity”.
